Emily Miller and Jac Alyanakian got married on November 2nd, 2025.
Nearly a year before tying the knot, they emailed Rowhome with a very fun idea: They wanted to work with us to make an audio documentary that told the stories of how they met and fell in love and that captured the events unfolding on their wedding day.
Emily and Jac are avid podcast listeners. They listen to narrative shows like Heavyweight and This American Life and were inspired by the way audio storytelling can vividly and intimately connect listeners to characters and place in a way that’s wholly unique to the medium.
Also, Jac is legally blind and will likely lose all of his sight by the end of his life. While they also had a photographer at the wedding (Theo Nash’s beautiful photos are included on this page), they wanted Jac to be sure that they will be able to look back on these memories for the rest of their lives.

Emily: You're a very brave person to engage with a world that maybe isn't kind, and you're just like, "Whatever, I'm gonna do me, and I'm gonna do me the way that I know how to do me."
Jac: That’s almost exactly how I describe you.
So, with producer Emily Rizzo, we’ve produced this hour-long piece that includes interviews with Emily & Jac, their friends & family, and features scenes and sounds from their wedding at the beautiful Knowlton Manor in Northeast Philly.
The documentary features the timeless story of their first date in West Philly after hitting it off on a dating app; you hear an edited version of their ceremony including vows and their officiant’s remarks; and you hear the full wedding party scene from toasts and first dances to the guest’s reflections about the newly married couple and more!
We’re honored that Emily and Jac chose to partner with us to make sure their big day was memorialized in such a meaningful and creative way.
